Third Generation Dairy Farmers

My name is Nate Walter. This farm was established in 1935 by Kenneth and Mildred Walter, my grandparents. They started with six Guernsey cows and 160 acres. Currently we milk 100 cows and have 270 acres on our farm and rent an additional 100. Our cows are three way cross guernsey/Norwegian red/red holstein.

My wife Angie and I bought this farm in 2002 and have been grazing since day one. We were certified organic in October of 2013. Our goal is to help someone learn about dairy farming and gain equity to be able to one day purchase their own farm. We have a house on our farm for an Apprentice to live in.

I'm tired of farms getting bigger and farmsteads sitting empty. I want to give a person a chance to live their dream.
