River Country RC&D, DGA, and the Dunn County NRCS invite you to an Outwintering Pasture Walk at the Chuck Flodquist Hill Creek Dairy near Colfax WI on Wednesday January 18th from 10AM to 12 PM with extended time for questions available following the Pasture Walk.
We will be learning some great outwintering strategies from Chuck, who is a long time grazier, current DGA Master Grazier, and a manager who has utilized outwintering as a vital component of his herd and pasture management for many years. He is currently managing over 100 milk cows and additional youngstock. He will explain many of the benefits he has seen over the years of outwintering his dairy cattle. We will have some information fact sheets and plenty of opportunity to ask questions during the walk as this is geared to be an educational experience in the field.
Please share this notice with professionals interested in this training, and also to all participants in the Dairy Grazing Apprenticeship who would like to attend.
Directions to the Farm: From Colfax WI head East on State Highway 40 to 20th Street (Scenic Road) and head North to the farm until you see event signs on the west side of the road.
