Leon Corse

Board Member and NATC Advisor

Mentor Dairy Grazier, Vermont

Leon Corse has been a DGA board member since 2022 and is a fifth-generation dairy farmer. He farms along with his wife, Linda, and their adult daughter, Abbie, on the farm that has been in their family since 1868. The Corse family farm, located at a high elevation in southern Vermont, includes 340 acres of certified-organic farmland.

The Corses just hired their third DGA Apprentice. They are strong believers in the Apprenticeship as a way to address the aging of U.S. dairy farmers. Their former Apprentice, MacKenzie Wallace, has been a partner in their operation since 2023.

They have about 100 certified-organic cattle, including Holsteins, Red & Whites, Jerseys and Crosses. Since 2008, the Corse family has worked with Organic Valley to sell their high-quality organic milk. They raise and harvest their own forage, selling a portion as well.

Leon is excited to be part of training the next generation of America's dairy farmers and guiding the organization to make this happen.
