Paul Daigle

DGA Board Advisor

Paul Daigle has been a DGA board advisor since 2022, and is a long-time land conservation and grazing advocate in Wisconsin. Paul is known for his work related to sustainable pasture management and livestock grazing practices that support both agricultural productivity and environmental health. He spent many years with the Marathon County Conservation, Planning & Zoning Department in Wausau, Wisconsin, where he served as the Land and Water Program Director. Prior to that, he worked as a conservation specialist, collaborating closely with farmers, including dairy producers, to implement conservation practices and managed grazing systems.

Paul’s work has focused on promoting managed rotational grazing, soil and water conservation, and providing technical assistance and educational outreach to producers looking to integrate these practices into their operations. Because of his work, in 2006 Paul received a National Award from the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service for “Excellence in Conservation.”

Throughout his career, Paul has collaborated with local farmers and conservation partners to help balance agricultural productivity, including dairy and livestock enterprises, with environmental conservation goals. His work has aided in the development of grazing plans and conservation strategies that benefit both farm operations and natural resources across central Wisconsin.

Paul is excited to continue his work with the DGA board and staff to expand the long-term viability of grazing-based dairy farming by building the capacity for development of profitable production models, marketing of grazing-based dairy products, and development of the next generation of grazing-based dairy farmers, technical experts and marketing experts.
