James McVitty joined DGA as a board member in 2025. He is Vice President of Trade Strategy, Sustainability and Stakeholder Affairs for Fonterra Co-operative Group in North America. His work at Fonterra includes leading strategic initiatives focused on advancing trade policy, strengthening sustainability performance, and building meaningful engagement with key stakeholders across the dairy value chain.

With extensive experience in agricultural trade, regulatory affairs and international market development, James plays a critical role in shaping policies that support market access and long-term growth for the dairy sector. His work bridges government relations, industry collaboration and corporate sustainability efforts, ensuring strong alignment between business objectives and evolving global standards.

James brings to the DGA board deep expertise in trade strategy and stakeholder engagement, supporting the Alliance’s mission to catalyze the development of and support for a vibrant dairy grazing sector.
