My name is MacKenzie Wallace. I discovered my interest in farming through my step dad. We started out with chickens then moved to turkeys and ducks. As I got older and looking for work I went and started on a vegetable farm down the road from my house and eventually realized that I really want to work and care for animals. I went and worked for an older gentleman that needed help caring for cows, which is where I learned my love for dairy cows. I worked on a couple other farms after that but knew I wanted to find my own farm down the road. My step dad had told me about the DGA program after seeing it on the news, he and I went on and signed up. This connected me with my Mentor Leon, I graduated the program September, 2021 and look forward to having my own farm one day.
