Greg Brickner
Senior Director of Precision Grazing
608-632-4056
Greg joined Dairy Grazing Alliance (DGA) as Senior Director of Precision Grazing in 2024 and leads on-farm trials designed to improve tools available for pasture management. He has practiced managed grazing with dairy cattle and sheep since 1987. He and his family live on and operate a 155-acre sheep farm in southwest Wisconsin, and have grazed dairy cattle in the past.
In 1987 Greg began working for a New Zealand ex-pat on a dairy farm where he learned to use managed grazing. This clicked with his search for an agroecological approach to farming, and he began a long career centered around grazing.
Greg is also a large animal veterinarian and is experienced in working with farmers and livestock. He worked as a pasture specialist and veterinarian for Organic Valley coop from 2018 to 2024.
Greg is passionate about understanding grazing ecosystems and using that information to make farm management decisions that balance the needs of humans, plants and animals.
