Ashley Hughes

Producer Services Manager

309-712-9958

Ashley is Producer Services Manager for Dairy Grazing Alliance (DGA), where she works directly with grazing dairy producers to support farm-level success, Mentor engagement, and the effective delivery of DGA programming. Her work is grounded in deep, hands-on experience and long-standing relationships within the grazing dairy community.

She brings a producer-centered perspective to everything she does, ensuring that DGA’s work remains practical, relevant and grounded in the realities of day-to-day farm operations.

Ashley first worked with DGA on the Apprenticeship side, serving as a Mentor on a Missouri training farm. Her practical knowledge, leadership and ability to support farmers on the ground made her a natural fit for the DGA team.

In her current role, Ashley manages relationships with Mentor farms and producers, while also serving as the program manager for DGA’s largest federal grant — a five-year, $4.9M Conservation Innovation Grant. Through this work, she oversees complex program implementation and the use of on-farm technology to support data collection, monitoring, and continuous training and improvement across participating farms.

Ashley grew up in a small town in central Illinois and developed her interest in dairy while completing two summer internships on dairies during her studies at the University of Missouri. After earning a degree in Animal Science in 2013, she moved to southwest Missouri, where she spent the next decade working with a large group of grazing dairies. She began her career as a farm assistant and advanced to a farm supervisor role, gaining comprehensive experience in grazing systems, herd management and farm operations.

Outside of work, she spends time caring for her beef cows and navigating the challenges of being a Chicago Cubs fan in Missouri.
