Welcome to Tranel Family Farms!
Four first cousins Travis, Adam, Michael, and Josh Tranel started TFF in 2013, to continue the family legacy. Today, along with their families, uncles, and cousins, the farm continues to produce healthy, wholesome milk in a way that is good for us, and good for our environment.
Here at Tranel Family Farms, our cows are treated as part of the family with a holistic, preventative approach. All family members are trained to handle cattle with care and respect, with an emphasis on safety and humaneness. Our animals are given clean water, fresh green grass, and plenty of pasture to stretch out on and enjoy our country air. We believe that a chemical-free method of farming, from the soil to the seed to the crop to the cow, makes for a healthier product.
Currently we milk about 500 cows and graze close to 900 head of livestock. The dairy cows all rotationally graze about 200 acres of pasture at the home farm, down a mile long blacktop lane. Then our heifers graze about 200 acres located on 3 different farms. We feel this will be a great place for an apprentice and intern due to our size, diversity, and experience at our disposal.
